About Geomathematical Consortium

We are a collaborative consortium of applied mathematicians, geologists and geophysicists based in several academic and research institutions in the United Kingdom, with links overseas. Collaboration of researchers provides a broad joint expertise simultaneously in
  • applied mathematics, from cutting-edge data analysis trough advanced computational techniques to analytical calculations,
  • theoretical physics, from rheology through the mechanics of continuous media to the thermodynamics of phase transitions, and
  • geology, from petrophysics through assessment of reservoir and repository properties to geohazards.
  • This joint expertise provides the capability for efficient addressing geophysical problems, with a reliable assessment of relevant underlying physics, a proper usage of advanced mathematical tools, and an immediate connection to demands in geology and geophysics.

Our consortium activity is aimed at solving mathematical and physical problems arising in geology and geophysics.
